While it could seem clear that range hood filters aid ventilate kitchens by vacuuming in the steam, smoke and other cooking emissions and absorbing the odors, they also function to gather cooking grease that can otherwise go airborne and spread throughout the room.

Much less noise: Range hoods can be uncomfortably loud at their higher fan speeds, so we favored models that are quieter. Undercabinet hoods mount to the bottom of a wall cabinet. Washable filters: Each hood we looked at with ducted ventilation has a washable filter that you can wash in a dishwasher.
